Mum's fury after
diver walks free
GRIEF stricken parents have demanded a change in the law after the driver who caused the death of their biker son walked free from court.
Czech motorist Marek Tomi, who was unlicensed and uninsured, was handed community service and a £100 fine after admitting he caused the death of former Woolwich man, 30-year-old John Living.
Magistrates at Thanet Court in Margate last Tuesday could only give 23 year-old Tomi a community order or fine because he admitted careless driving.
After the hearing, Mr Living's
parents Carol and Peter, of Eglinton Road, Woolwich, branded the decision "disgusting" and insisted tougher sentences must be imposed.

They say they will never get over his loss and have been left with nothing but disgust for the British justice system.
They are furious that stronger charges were not put to driver Tomi and have vowed to write to Tony Blair.
Mr Living's mother Carol said: "A £100 fine, 200 hours community service and a two-year ban for a lovely boy's life is disgusting.
"It's not the magistrates' fault, I don't blame the police, it's the laws."
The court was told Mr Living was on a motorbike when he was struck by Tomi in a Ford Mondeo on October 23 last year at a notorious accident black spot. Prosecutor Elizabeth Baker
said the crash was caught on CCTV.
Mrs Baker said Tomi approached a junction in Margate and turned into the path of Mr Living. He received fatal injuries and died almost instantly.
Mrs Baker said: "He saw the light of the motorcycle in the distance and said he most likely miscalculated the speed and distance of the motorcycle. It was very dark."
Tomi was sentenced to 200 hours community service and banned for two years.
Mum Carol said after the hearing: "This Tomi is going to be able to do all the things that our son John is not going to do."
She added: "I just wanted justice. He hasn't answered for a life."
